Process

In addition to using the latest technology and hiring skilled craftsmen, we ensure that our process is prompt, accessible and sustainable. We design the floor based on its performance and start with understanding its requirements and usage. After carefully considering the construction methods, programme and engineering, we bring in the design. However, we ensure to deliver a design that is economical and one that meets the performance requirements.

Structural Design

The structural design of a floor will follow engineering principles and calculations and requires knowledge of the following to determine the slab thickness and reinforcement.
This can be determined by the following:
1. Ground conditions
2. Strength of the concrete
3. The thickness of the concrete
4. Method of reinforcement
5. Load transfer capability of the joints
6. Loading specification and loading pattern

Detailed Design

Detail design covers key performance requirements, including the following.
1. Joint layout and joint design
2. Construction methods
3. Method of reinforcement.
4. Surface regularity (flatness and levelness)
5. Abrasion resistance

Maintenance

Floors require maintenance from the day the concrete is cast. However, new floors should be cleaned and kept free of debris once the fit-out takes place. The joints should further be filled with a semi-hard sealant, after the completion of the construction process but before the commencement of regular use. During the first 18 months, the floor will shrink as drying shrinkage takes place. Afterwhich, the joints will open progressively and should be monitored monthly, then filled with progressively harder sealants. However, any cracks & damage to joints should be repaired promptly to prevent degradation.
